Wonderful Place
We stayed in whitetail campground in our rv. No hookups but it was spacious and lovely.

Best Campground In The Area
We selected site #2 based on the review of the map. Spacious pull through. We really liked that a big draw of this place is for horse people. Enjoyed walking through the horse section with the corrals and horses. Although primitive RVing, we can boondock. It’s a bit dusty, but the scenery is outstanding. Ya, there are alternative campgrounds, if you like crowded sites.

Be cautious when reserving a site here. Extra fees will drive up the price. We started with a site for $12. The reservationist then added $9 for a state camp fee. We shared that we had need of a pull thru site an we were a PICKUP truck and trailer for a total of 50 feet. He said site 22 would work for us very well. He read his script for rules and included that any change in a sight would result in another $9 fee.
We arrived at the park and found that site 22 was a tent sight. Thankfully the park ranger was nearby to help but that took 35 minutes as other campers had the same problems. Then the ranger informed us the camp had an additional camp fee of $7. This was in addition to what we paid at the reservation site.
After we got ourselves into a good site we were pretty happy with camp. It was nice and close to Theodore Roosevelt National park. The next morning we decided to use the camp showers. Again there is a fee to use the showers.

Great Spot To Stay.
This was a great little park to stay at, and within 5 mins or Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We stayed with our travel trailer and 2 kids for 6 nights, no issues. There are no hook ups, but water is available and there is a dump station. Sites are quite level and easy to gain access too. Showers are super clean and well maintained, bring quarters it’s 4 quarters for 8 mins of hot water.
The Maah Daah Hey trail runs thru this park and is super accessible. Make sure you take the trail up the butte for an amazing view, and if you keep going you’ll hit a plain that overlooks the golf course.
Highly recommend if you can’t stay in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, honestly I’d rather stay here then in the park. Much less activity and people to bother you.
