Labor Day 2022
We stayed here for a week..Very nice spacious sites, a nice sandy beach for swimming..Bathroom were well maintained..park host & the rangers were very sweet..& the deer were beautiful...only negative I can come up with is we were there when the lake was turning over so the water stunk like rotten eggs & there were lost of dead carps..just 1 of them things that has nothing to do with the park..we will diffently be back..

Great Water Views
Although the north camping section is currently closed due to damage from the hurricane a few years ago, there are lots of great spots 20 yards from the water. The spots away from the water also looked nice as they were on a little elevation over the waterside spots and a little more space between the waterside spots.

For COE, Just OK
We stay at a lot of Corps of Engineers campgrounds, because we love them. This one was NOT to the standards of most we've stayed at. Sites WERE large, well spaced apart, and on the water like usual, so that's good, but there was no vegetation between sites, no playground for the kids (which, we are retired and don't have kids with us...but we know a LOT of people travel with kids, so this is a review of the overall CG). Restrooms were clean, but just so, so. No soap during covid, and dated. Only one shower in ladies room, 2 in men's. Sites are pretty level, but we did need to do a little leveling, and our leveling system sank into the mud, even through the gravel topping. Not sure we would come back. Lots of deer roaming the CG which was kind of cool, evidently some people feeding them, too.

Great park site right on lake deer all around us very clean seems to be well kept. Some sites closed due to high water.
