Fees And Fees And More Fees
Clean and tidy should not mean excessive lockdown feeling.
We travel in our motorhome all over the country and HAVE NEVER been:
charged for our stay in advance,
told we would forfeit payment if we left early
be charged for family to stop in and say hello, be charged a 1/2 day if we show up an hour before checkin even if the site is open,
up charge for supposed premium spot....seriously??
Get real. This is a campground, not a hotel in Manhattan.
These folks seriously miss the mark when it comes to freedom and nostalgia of camping in the United States of America. They should move to communist country and open a campsite there.
Will never stay here again. This is NOT camping.

Quiet And Good Location
Spent 4 months here at monthly rate of $580 plus electricity. Quiet park, no road/rail noise. Park owner runs tight park, so quiet and orderly. Two ponds for catch and release, swim beach. Walking path around ponds about 1.5 miles. Borders on Western Trail for biking and walking, also local parks. A lot going on in Sycamore and Dekalb, museums, concerts, historical sites, and surrounding area if interested. Owner provides soft water! Wifi worked well. Gravel in all sites, drains well, very level, some shaded sites. Large open grass area for playing. Definitely stay again.

Wonderful Getaway
We absolutely love Sycamore! The lake/pond is beautiful with a perfect path that loops around it and a beach to enjoy during the summer months. The gravel spots are a bit close together, but fairly level and include a fire ring and picnic table. Dale and Anita work hard to keep their property well-maintained and clean. Using the email provided is the best way to communicate with them. They respond within the same day. I definitely recommend checking out Sycamore if you're in the area.

Full Time RVer
Class A, 38. Easy in and out park. First section of road is really rough. We were on site 82. Full hook ups. Everything worked. Tight together. No grass only gravel at sites. Large grass area across from sites. Clean park. Nice lake area to walk the dogs around. Quiet park. Unfortunate pretty strong cow poo smell if the breeze is blowing towards the park but not something that can be controlled. Satellite and cell worked. 55 minutes from Chicago. Nice stay.

Not A Resort
This place is a joke! The owner is rude not a friendly person what so ever. This is not a resort. The 50 amp service is non existent the owner has an electrical problem and try’s to blam it on your coach, we stayed a month we could of run our two ac units. Had to run inverter for microwave and refrigerator or the breaker would pop.
After we arrived he told us it would cost extra for our car trailer but then again everything is extra here! We stayed 29 days our electric was $200 the trailer was $150 plus the monthly rate..
Add it up and I could have stayed at a REAL RESORT WERE I COULD RUN ALL MY ELECTRIC AND HAVE A POOL CONCRETE LEVEL PAD AND OTHER AMENITIES. NOT A RESORT ITS A CAMPGROUND THAT DOESNT ALLOW TENTS!

Pass This Up
Rv resort yeah rite more like park cause that's all ur gonna do in a gravel lot where you can reach out and touch ur neighbors camper I could have stayed home in my driveway then the guy was so anal first he was pushing and moaning because I pulled in passed the gate well excuse me for spoiling ur day there were two big dually pickups blocking the entrance and another rite up my ass I'm in a 31 foot motorhome where the hell am I supposed to go then he has to take you by the hand and lead you to a spot no more then 50 yards from the office and to put the icing on the cake he has to to tell you the precise degree in which ur steering wheel needs to be to back into this palatial gravel spot like you dont know how to operate ur own RV maybe I should have asked mr control freak if there was valet service you can keep stinking RV hell now that I have exacted my pound of flesh I feel much better

Ok
Clean bathrooms and nice grounds. Hiking around the two lakes is a nice one mile loop.
Beach was too late season and cool on Labor Day weekend this year. Fishing still a popular choice here, especially bank fishing.
Drawback is the sites are so compact that you have no privacy and people are right in top of each other. Too close for comfort. Also gravel driveways need to be regraveled because they turn into slippery mud with just a little rain

Clean & Cozy
We camp here frequently, the bathrooms & showers are always clean. The park is very well maintained. The price is very reasonable.
