Not What We Expected
I know this is a very well loved state park. I really wanted to love it, but it was not to be. These sites are very close together and do not provide much privacy at all. There were many sites that were blocked by the multiple vehicles of neighboring sites. The lake was beautiful but they’re is no place for the kids to dip their toes in unless you have a boat. We enjoyed the hike to hemlock falls. If you’re avid boater/fisherman than this is your park. If you are looking for a little more space between you and your neighbor look elsewhere. Also the dump station is located right in front of one of the sites near the lake, it seemed like a very strange place to have it.

A beautiful park. We camped in our 35’RV. No problem. The park is very clean and the staff exceptionally helpful. Beautiful lake and a trout stream runs through the property too. A wonderful 6 day experience. If they had sewer hook up I’d rate it 5 stars. Never the less, I’d love to return.

Campground was nice however, the showers were horrible. They sprayed water everywhere but on you. It was adjusted to a fine stinging mist. Dump trucks running up and down the highway made for a lot of noise. Not as enjoyable as we had hoped for so we left early.

Very Nice Stay
Staff friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms and you can tell they care about their facility. Sites level. Central to many other places to visit.

Great Location and
Convienent location for a hiking base camp or water sports on Lake Burton. Close to the Appalachian Trail and other hiking trails. Fish hatchery next door and good fishing nearby. The sites are very close together, and the campground is small. During the summer months it can get very noisy with boats and watercraft on the lake. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The gate is locked at 10pm and unlocked at 7am. Very clean grounds and sites were adequate size. Water pressure good and electric was clean and stable. Has both small tent sites and can accommodate large rigs. Bathrooms were clean and showers had hot water. Firewood and ice available and a very small but well stocked "store".

Quiet And Tidy
If it were full hook-up, I would rate it 5 stars. Very well kept - kudos to the staff. Large spacious sites, easy in - easy out. Check in is at 1pm so to speak, "Get there early), and place your name placard on the site you want, or get what you get. Our second stay here. 5 days both trips. Highly recommended.
