Great Night For Stop Over For sand Dunes
Free site with hunting or fishing license. Free 50 amp electric. No water or dumping. Covered picnic tables and fire pits. Restrooms provided however we didn't check those out.
Bring your own water and pick a site. 3 loops all electric, most drive thru. We were in a 36 ft class A with a toad with no problems.
The gravel road on the way in is bumpy but overall nice place to stay if you are looking to be close to the Sand dunes national park.
Sand dunes 8 miles away.
If you are looking to rent sandboards or sand sleds use Oasis just 4 miles from park entrance. Get there early as they open at 9 and sell out fast. We arrived at 8:30 and were first in line. Boards $20/day.

Great Stop, Gravel 1/2 Mile
What a find, Free ...yet!Site says water, dump, and laundry but that is when it was a State park - now a wildlife preserve with Electricty only! So fill your water before setting up, as nearest water at The Dunes. Also Dunes have dump station. Windy on our visit, but no bugs :)

Free With Pass Or License
This campground was a State Park but is now a State Wildlife Refuge. To enter the (unstaffed) gate you must have either a $36 annual Colorado State Park Pass, a fishing or hunting license. If you have one of these, then camping is free.
