Ruined A Beautiful Day
Here we sit after five days of rain and can finally get outside our rv and the campground has decided this is the perfect day to power wash the site next door for two solid hours. The noise is intolerable! Beyond irritated.

Great Place but TRAINS
Loved this place. Clean, sites are spacious. Nice office/shop to buy essentials. Close to attractions. BUT TRAINS. I'm a light sleeper so the trains were terrible, passed by all night blowing their horns. It's a shame because it's a really nice campground. Will not be back.

Super nice people at check-in. Site was clean, functional and level. There’s lots of room for walking & plenty of things to do. We enjoyed our stay very much !

WormCamper
VERY unwelcoming place to stay for those of us who travel allot. NO mail can be sent here, in cooler climates NO skirts for your RV. The office likes to quote “we want your site to look like an overnight even if your here longer”. No comforts of home allowed. Mean people in the office too.

Overnight stop
A quick overnight stop for us. This was a very quiet, relaxed campground. Easy to get around. No noise from the larger highways. There is a train nearby, but it wasn’t loud enough to be a problem. Bathhouse seemed clean and nice. Pool looked large and clean too. Only true negative is that not every site has a fire ring and ours did not. Otherwise, a nice place!

Passing Thru Stay
We are on our way to a further destination, so just an overnight stay. This is just off the highway. Easy on, easy off, but far enough away not to hear the highway. We rolled in after the park office was closed. The groundskeeper Chris was getting ready to leave, but saw us, and turned around to help get us settled in. Definitely service above and beyond. Park is clean, wide open spots, concrete pads, full hookup. The sight he put us on was long enough, we didn’t even have to unhitch. After a 12 hour drive, it was nice to park here, send the teenage kids to the clean pool, with a well behaved group of other kids at, “break camp”, relax and be recharged to pull out in the morning.

This is our first stay at American Heritage. We are in a 37’ MH with two slides, towing a Dakota pick up. This place is very nice. All sites are concrete with new asphalt drives. The grounds are very nicely landscaped and well taken care of. Pool is large and clean. Staff and fellow guest are quite friendly and pleasant. Checked out laundry and all looked clean and well maintained. Will be using laundry before we leave. Highly recommend, close to all the historic sites and also close to Richmond. A tour of the state capital is a must do. There is a train track close by but it is not a problem at all.

Nice place
We stayed here as an overnight stop. Nice and clean. Sites were all paved, campers were respectful and workers were great. Close to the highway, easy on/off. Yes....there is a train but this campground is nice enough you can get over it. We heard more highway sounds than train sounds.

Did an overnight shakedown on our new 40ft 5th wheel. It just fit on our premium pull through site but the width was impressive with picnic table on one side and patio on the other with fire pit. The sites are clean and in good repair. Turns getting in and out of the rows was a bit tight with few obstructions except grass. Don’t miss the obscured entrance or you will have a long backup! The kids enjoyed the game room, camp store and hiking around the woods. We saw the clean ample laundry but did not use it. Friendly staff and campers highlighted our peaceful stay. There were several trains but only Amtrak blew the horn which were only during the day.

Nice Place
Yes there is a train. It's not that bad. My 3 year old thought it was cool and kept saying there goes Thomas. Camp ground is clean and basic. Great Place to stay if you plan on going to the sites around Williamsburg or just relax at the campground. Not a lot of activities for kids but our kids enjoyed the pool.

Noise
I read all the other reviews, all failed to mention the train track at the end of the street. Fri night, trains came by at 9:30, 12:30 and 3:30. Sat, kids running and hollering all over the park. Great place for family with kids that dont mind noise, buts its not as quiet for retires as others have stated. Beautiful park very well maintained, lots of amenities. Ps; trains at 9:05 Sat morning also.

Great Place To Stay
We were impressed with the sites that all had concrete pads for the campers. We had a pull through site, and we were able to leave the tow dolly hooked to our motorhome. We Still had room for our car next to the dolly on the asphalt drive that leads to and from the pad. The bath houses were clean and had daily trash pick up. Friendly staff.

Great Place To Stay!
This is our second visit to American Heritage RV Park. This has become our quick weekend get away campground. The staff has been friendly, facilities are clean and all sites have a concrete pad, either a picnic table or patio set and fire pit. The campground is updating some sites with an outdoor wood stove. Located just outside the hussel and bussel of Williamsburg. 2 miles from York River State Park with great hiking opportunities. 10 minutes from Busch Gardens, and 10 minutes from the Williamsburg Outlets. Plenty to do and a great place to stay.
