I am hesitant to write this, I don't want to give away this secret. Hands down the best little campground in VA. The owners take the time to come and speak with everyone, making sure that you know where everything is, to help accommodate any need and make sure that you are set for your stay. From the private beach to the friendly turtle pond, the ease of access and perfect size (only 40 or so sites), Cross Rip is perfect. The cabins are cute, the fishing pier is perfectly situated, free use of water toys, and amazing views of the Chesapeake Bay. I can't wait to come back!

We had a nice camping experience at Cross Rip. The new owners, Catherine and Rebecca, were awesome. They were very responsive to requests and questions. There weren't many people there over the weekend which is how we like it. It was quiet and relaxing. They have a small beach area, the water was really warm while there so didn't do any swimming. They have a small dock out into the bay/river to fish from. We caught lots of croakers in the evening and morning off the dock. There is a large field you can let your dog run in or play ball. They also allow your dog in the water around the beach which many don't do. They have a small pond as well which has sun fish and a couple bass in. All in all, we had a good experience at Cross Rip and would do it again.
