I brought my grandkids to see West Texas. Wanted to see Frontier Museum in Abilene. Being June I knew it would be hot. Saw pictures of beautiful historic pool in Abilene St Pk. No one bothered to tell me pool is closed this summer for renovations. If you want to stay at this park for the hiking, it is 100 degrees +, the pool is closed, the lake is way down - no water activity there either. Wait until Autumn or next year

Great Little Park
We stayed 3 nights over Spring Break and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom where we were was kept very clean and well stocked. My 9 year old enjoyed the playground and we all enjoyed the nature trails. The trails were well marked and easy walking. We will definitely go back again.

Enjoyable
Out of the state parks I stayed at so far, this one is on the top of the list. Very quite, lots of hiking trails, and the camping spots are fairly secluded too. You can really get a lot of privacy even when the camp sites are full! Great place to stay for a few days and go exploring for sure

Great little Park, will stay again. We use it for one or two day lay over on our travels. It’s a little far off I20, but it surely beats the “RV” parks out on interstate (they have turned into Man Camps for the oil field). It’s quite, lots of wildlife, and relatively close to Abilene.

Trees Too Low
Nice park but trees are too low. Lost my TV antenna. Maintenance worker told me they are understaffed. Site 61 is nice. Folks get backed up waiting to dump and we didn't see the turn for our site.

This park is beautiful! So many oak and cedars and I was in 360 degree shade all day. Clearly marked Hiking trails, wonderful HUGE pool and very close to spectacular restaurant (Perini's Steakhouse. Located near Buffalo Gap Texas). You will love this quaint small town and drive in awe at the oak tree canopy that covers the Main Street. Beauty +++++ Quiet. +++++ Activities +++++
