Do This While You Can... free!
The day will come when you can't drive on to the sand beach of the Gulf and camp for free. Do it while you still can. Nothing but you, the beach, the gulf and a few other free spirits who are doing the same thing. No facilities so come prepared. Most of the Bolivar peninsula beach camping requires a $10 annual pass but if you take Rettilon Rd. To the gulf and turn to the left it's totally free. Lots of ships at anchor in the gulf in front of you.
I will do this any time I can. We have a 26 ft travel trailer. Use common sense on the sand and you won't get stuck. Park as far from the water as possible...remember there are tides!
