Overnight Stay
Right off, park office is open 9-4:20 (truly!) Arrive outside those times and camping is the honor system; come to the office after they open and pay. Access to the campgrounds is a quick left ACROSS THE SPILLWAY. Miss it and you turn around in the beach parking lot. Choose your spot wisely. Our spot was slanted so’s we were not comfortable unhitching but because it was just an overnight, not a big problem. Spots are pretty secluded with a lot of trails in the area. Dump station is between the two campground entrances so depending on what way you entered, you may have a sharp right to dump.

Great Park With Lots To Do
This is a very large Texas State Park with miles of trails for hickers, bikers and horse riders. Plus, there are fishing docks, paddle boat rentals, beach area and rock climbing area. Some camp sites do not recieve ATT cell service. I highly recommend this Park for all ages of outdoor enthusiasts. It is very popular, you must have a reservation to get a RV water with electric site.

Very Nice Get Away.
This is an amazing park. There is wildlife everywhere. The spaces are very nice. You feel like you're in the woods. There is no cell phone service, only 2 TV channels, but lots of outdoor stuff to do. If you like to fish, this is the place. I will deffinetly go back.

Love This Park!
The best way to do Texas state parks, is to get an annual State Park pass. Yes, it may be a little pricey, but this is one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. There is a lot of space between camp spots. This makes for an excellent and happy environment. The lake is clean and nice, and does have quite a few fish as well as beaver, deer, and a number of birds. We go here often to get away from the city grind. Worth every penny!

Something For Everyone
Price is high for a park but worth it. Right away you drive across the spillway of the dam to get to the campground. There is a lot of hiking rock climbing boating. Some of the spots are on the lake itself. The spots are wooded you can barely tell you have a neighbor. People are great. There are nice. Definitely recommended.

Great Time
Loved all the deer. Had a great time. Our particular site was very sandy so we tracked quite a bit into the camper. Showers were ok. Rented a canoe and had a great time. Water was coming over the spillway the entire weekend. My son loved driving through it. Hiking area near the rock climbing area was cool.

Nicer State Park, But A Price To Go With
Stayed here two separate times in beginning and end of Spring 2017. Park is nice, hiking is good, wildlife is abundant, and showers are amazing. A bit pricey for a SP, but worth it IMO. If you fish, you should have a boat with you.

Very Nice
Deer roamed freely to make for a nice experience. A bit more expensive than other state parks with the $7 per person charge on top of campsite fee. Ours came to $38. ????

Bike Trail
GPS: 32.82147, -98.03699 Lake Mineral Wells State Trailway. Compacted fine crushed stone. Twenty mile rail trail from Mineral Wells to Weaterford, TX. The trail can be accessed from a spur trail inside the park. The spur has four switchbacks that are super going downhill, but will take some low gear peddling and sweat to go back up. Once on the main trail, it is flat toward Mineral Wells (west direction is paved for two miles) and Weatherford (east direction is fine compacted crushed limestone for eighteen miles). http://tinyurl.com/pdkmq9u
