Rude Staff - Pass On This

We went to check out this park for future camping. The woman at the entrance would not let us drive through without paying $6, due that the park is fee based! I get the fee for use, but not for shopping.

Nice Park

Quite, clean, and spacious RV sites. Will be back as soon as possible!

Disappointed

Seems like we were bothering the staff who were on their cell phones when we checked in. Road noise. Sewer hookups require moving the RV to dump. Texas has more to offer than this campground.

Pass this one up! Busy highway road noise is constant. If you’re unlucky to obtain sites by the highway. Was told on phone reservation, site near highway was only one left. However sites were empty during our stay. Poor reservation system! RV sites are very uneven. Roads in the camps are bad. Site had electrical plugs problems. Poor maintenance and upkeep.

Nice Local Park

This is a nice local park with good RV spots for overnight or longer. Be sure to have enough hose and power cord because the sewer is on the opposite side from water and power. Two sides: river side and forested side. Both nice. RVers don’t have easy access to the river-blocked by small rental cabins. RV spots have nice cement pads, picnic tables and fairly level big spots. Good if you are towing!

Great pull-thru sites with privacy and views of Cedar and Oak. Mountainview sites are great. Stayed longer because it is so pretty!

Great Place

We have stayed here last 2 years and looking forward to next year. The place is getting popular so it's getting to be a juggling act to get reservations. Fun bike trails. Town close for supplies yet far away enough you would think your in the country. Spots are roomy. Staff is very helpful.

We were told to go to site 123, when we got there someone was already in that site. I called the office but no answer. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Freeway Noise And Not So Pet Friendly

The other review is correct - you hear lots of traffic noise. Very pretty park, but signs posted everywhere "Do not take dogs". Can't take pup on any trails, by the river or by the cabins. Very disappointed. Went by Jellystone RV Park - that my friend recommended - and learned that's the RV park to stay at when in Kerrville

Nice, well kept park but very close to major highway and very loud road noise. Will not go back.

Nice

This used to be a State Park and has maintained the same buildings. River access for swimming, fishing and canoeing. During the summer they rent kayaks. The camping is very nice with shaded sites. Full rv hookups with pull thru sites. Wonderful set up that keeps nature natural. Lots if deer and wildlife. Plenty of hiking trails. We like the town of Kerrville also. Nice town with theater and restaurants. Fredericksburg is a short drive as well.
