Great Boondocking
Awesome spot. $6 normally, $3 with senior pass. Self register. Clean vault toilets, which we didn't use. Generators allowed from 6 am to 10 pm. We heard none...everyone had solar when we were there. Dirt road coming in, but very well maintained. If you want to go to the dam you need a passport, as it's right on the border with Mexico. No glass containers...outside, I assume. I drank a beer from a glass bottle inside my rig. Plenty of trash receptacles. Free water and dump available at Diablo East boat launch access road, coordinates: N29.47168, W101.01331. Plenty of room; big rig friendly, level sites, great cell (4-5 bars AT&T). This was a 1 night stopover on our way to Big Bend, but we WILL be back to spend more time here. More to do and see than we expected.

Please note, during gov't shutdown, no water is available, drinking or otherwise at Diablo East, the only supply for several camp grounds in area

Great BASIC Sites
Flat, didn't have to level up. Quiet, great cell signal. Basic - picnic tables and pit toilet. Sites are huge, 40' RV size EASILY. I doubt there's an RV that can't fit here.
I have to give 5 stars to offset the person that left only one. You get what you pay for here....

Bare Bones
All of the Amistad recreation areas are $4-$8 but be aware that there are NO facilities. No water, no electric hookups. You'd think they'd put improvements in to attract more tourists.
