Convenient But There Are Trade Offs

Stayed here May 2017. Was concerned about steepness of roads to get into park (as we heard Hwy 441 on Cherokee side being difficult on tow vehicles and large rigs due to grade of road and elevation climb). We had no problems getting into park, concerns were unfounded. No electric unless you have a medical needs campsite. Generators are permitted within the designated hours. No showers but does have flush toilets and sinks. You stay here for the proximity to Cades Cove which we saw numerous bear. For the price you pay to basically dry camp, may be better to stay at one of the campgrounds just outside of the park
