Beautiful Park-like Setting
This is our second time visiting this park. It's so nice we made a special effort in itinerary planning so as to stay here. We don't need services so we did the dispersed price and picked a wooded spot along the trout stream that runs thru the park. Great dogwalk trails, shaded, clean bathhouse, showers. The sites w electricity seemed quite close together without any privacy. Sites r quite level. Close to town and lots of restaurants. Lots of folks bring bikes. Lots of places to ride. Not sure when the bathhouse close but they're open now. Would stay here again

Our Best City Park Award
This is the nicest city park that we have found on our many trips between Alabama and Montana. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it. The campground is within walking distance to downtown Spearfish, which has a lot to offer - restaurants, shopping, brewery, and really nice people.

Beautiful Park
Nice park, level gravel sites with full hookups. Historic fish hatchery and displays in park. Very quiet, easy access to Spearfish canyon. Cost approximately $45 a night. Walmart about 2 miles restrooms and showers very clean. Would definitely stay here again

Off Season, No Water At Camp Sites
Very nice, but if you are there during off season, the water is off at the campsites. There was a drinking water faucet in the campsite where you can fill up, but the rinse water at the dump station is turned off. Off season price is $20, plus $2 online booking fee. We have a 30 ft travel trailer.

Wish I Had More Time There
We only stayed one night but really enjoyed this campground. Beautiful scenery with the stream running around it with mature trees and a large park just down the road. The facilities were clean and service was great. The spots are really small but everything else makes up for that.

Price To High - no Showers/flush toilet
Very beautiful spot! The COVID 19 has no comfort stations open, no shower, no flush toilets & might add very poorly maintained vault toilets! The City does own this, and appear to be very greedy with no discounts due to the lack of services...my suggestion is put a lock on their already coded showerhouse, allowing only 1 person, leave disinfectant, we are all adults...of course consessions made with children. We are self contained, but those that are not will be quite unhappy! FULL CHARGE FOR 1/2 services! Plus side wonderfully kind management, staff and the creek by the sites allows wonderful sounds, little fishing, and great bike walking path that goes through the beautifull city Of Spearfish. Favorite site #1. Fyi

Beautiful campground setting but bathrooms and showers were very dirty with sewer smells. A couple of shower rooms had no lights, maybe a good thing. Noticed the same broken bars of soap on floor and a tree leaf in one shower, with working light, for our entire 4 day stay. The advertised WIFI is only available at the office. Make sure you have a long sewer hose, connection is at the back of sites.

Nice But Busy!
Nice campground but very close spaces. Good spot to make as a base camp to see the black hills.

Great little campground. Stayed the week before Sturgis rally and a lot of bikers present but the campground was still quiet and comfortable. Love the stream and fish hatchery close for some peaceful entertainment.

Great little campground which I believe is owned by the city of Spearfish. Spearfish Creek runs along side of it and there are a few walking paths throughout the campground . It is beautifully maintained and yes some spots were closer together than what we would like to be but we enjoyed our neighbors throughout our 3 day stay. It is close to town, which is a really cute downtown by the way, and we walked there a few times with our dog. There is a fish Hatchery next door and Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood all within an hour driving distance. Definitely would come back again.

Lovely Place
Beautiful park and groovy little town! Level FHU sites. Clean Showers. My kids loved “creeking” in the creek that meanders thru the park. Make sure to visit the fish hatchery adjacent to the campground. There is an awesome playground but too far away for most kids to go to alone. Some sites are pretty close together, I half jokingly offer my tailgate off the back of my trailer as a counter/bar for the family reunion in the site behind us. Be sure to check out promptly at 11 or the camp host will remind you are not paid for the next day.

Shame on you if you don't stay at one of the most beautiful campgrounds in North America! Spotless showers and lots of them. Immaculate groomed and treed grounds. Next door to a unique and marvelous fisheries museum and working hatchery with hundreds of monster trout. Reasonably priced. You cannot stay at a better place. Yes, I love this place!

Great Campground
Spent one night here before the Memorial Day weekend. Sites were large, well kept, and had all the necessary hook ups. 30/50 amp, water, sewer, and basic cable. Access to a great trail system for running, biking, or walking. Several Geocaches in the area. If we're in the lower 48 we'd definitely come back!
