We loved it here! Spent 2 weeks camping with family. Amazing concrete sites next to the water- they are first come, first serve. Gravel sites closer to park entrance, but they are large and looked fairly level. The park itself is beautiful, well shaded and clean!
Only complaints are that the camp hosts would drive around and pick up sticks and fallen branches, then burn them. We were able to find firewood, thank goodness, but it would’ve been nice if they would have just stacked it for campers to use. Second complaint is that the faucets at the dump station were inoperable. When we informed the camp host, they said they had a work order in to fix it, but we were there for 13 days, and it was never fixed. Overall, would recommend this park and will definitely be back🏕️

Our FAVORITE!
We love Cookson Bend Campground. Great spots, nice people, can park the boat up to the campsite (if at watersites). Lots of trees, breezes even when hot. Two boat ramps for boats, its a great cove for fishing. Lots to see and do as well swimming, discovering new restaurants by water or shore and local cultural sites. Locals are very friendly. We love it here!

Area Resident
Cookson Bend is a sprawling campground that offers various types of camps. From tent to motorhome sites. Close to area restaurants and entertainment. The local meeting place is the deck. It offers great live music 3 days a week in the season months. Boating Swimming, scuba and just enjoying a cool glass of your favorite wine while watching the sunset and put on a spectacular show. You can catch it all from here. It's also a great place to catch a few of the local fireworks shows during the 4th of July festivities.
