A Lovely Campground!
What a great campground! One of our new favorites! We will definitely be back. Just be careful of the steep downhill road and turns when exiting with your rig. A little tricky. A+ campground and super clean and helpful staff.

Great Views, Tight Spots
44’ 5th Wheel/ 1ton diesel dually. From the highway to the entrance the road is a bit snug. Once you arrive to entrance your on a decent grade for registration. We stayed at the top of the of the mountain site. Navigating through the lower campsite was snug as well. Once you get to the top area it’s all loose gravel. You have to then loop around a path that has some small grades. I went to 4Lo for better traction and lower gearing. Once parked, the spaces are nice and spread apart. Full hookups and decent wifi / cell service. Amazing views and patios. Clean bath house. Only negative about the upper area is it’s all gravel. The lower area has a small dog park. I seen plenty of smaller 5th wheels, class A’s etc at the top. Just have watch the exit. They ask you to exit on a different route through the campground. With my rig it was tricky. There is a Laguna Seca type cork screw you have to go through, I had to backup a few times. I recommend exiting through the entry path.

Beautiful Setting
We love this park, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We’ve been here twice — both times missing the foliage. But it’s still a beautiful setting. Showers are great, people friendly, sites spacious.

This is our second stay at Mama Gerties. We have enjoyed the campground very much. New owner is adding a community deck on top of the mountain. Also doing some upgrades to enhance our stay. We will be back !

We Loved This Campground
Beautiful views from upper side where we stayed on site 23. It was very spacious back-in site. Super clean campground, quiet, and staff was awesome. They are very involved and keep this place running as it should. We traveled with kids and stayed there for three nights. There was no playground, but they found other things to do. Dumpsite was below our hill, but no smell whatsoever. Would like to come back sometime.

Had a wonderful time, everyone was so nice and willing to help with anything you need. Showers were spotless and hot, need to check out the top of the hill sites you can see forever, we will be back.

Incredible View, Awesome Park!
I read reviews about the steep climb but had to give it a try. They show you the tight turns, give great advice on navigating before escorting you up the hill. I was blown away by how great the view was! Saw a big diesel pusher up here so it's no wonder I got up here so easy with my 33 foot gas coach. They've done a wonderful job setting up and maintaining this park!

No Buses Allowed
I was in Asheville in November and needed a campground to park my RV for a month. When I called to check on availability, I was asked what brand RV I had. I explained we have a fully functioning RV that used to be a school bus. I was told they do not accept school buses. I did explain we spent A LOT of money on this conversion and it is a really nice RV and I was again told there are no buses allowed. Conversion RVs are becoming more and more popular and I believe it would be financially beneficial, and appreciated by many, if Mama Gertie's would change their policy on not allowing school buses.

Everything We Wanted In Mountain Camping
Everything we wanted and hoped for in our mountain camping trip to Asheville. On the side of a mountain in very well laid out campground. Very accommodating staff, super nice. Filled our propane tank and delivered to site for us. Some paved and some gravel sites, all level. Staff unhooks water hose on freezing nights, huge help! Love this place. We will be back in the summer to stay at the top. Can’t say enough good things about the beautiful campground. Never been in one like it before!

Lovely RV Campground
Very clean and well maintained. Good digital cable reception. Since it built on the side of a mountain getting to some of the sites can be a bit intimidating especially if you have a big rig. Still I would stay here again.

Awesome views from the top camping area. I must admit, we were very intimidated by the narrow roads and vertical climb to the top. I posted two photos of the damage to my truck and camper that resulted from the drive down the next day. Please know this incident was by no means the camp host's fault. Just know that towing 42 feet of toyhauler to the top is risky..

Great Views In the Upper Deck
No one could say enough about how beautiful this park is, but it is on the side of a mountain. If your lucky enough to get the upper deck you best have good hp under the hood and torque, the roads are paved but its got hair pin turn and 20% grade to the top. Once on top you cant beat the views, like no other park you have ever visited. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Close to Biltmore and all other sites. Stays full most of the time, make reservations.

Phenomenal
We only stayed at Mama Gertie’s for one night but it was fantastic. Friendly staff and well maintained. Very cool that you park on the side of a hill. They are pet friendly, there is one small fenced in area, it could have been a little bigger, but more than most campgrounds have.

Great Views
Stayed one night due to availability. Be sure to reserve well in advance. Very beautiful sites with great views. Upper restrooms and showers were clean and roomy. We did experience a power issue (could only use 30 amp service though the site has 50) and thought it was an RV issue. But at a different park the next night and later at home 50 amp worked fine. Definately recommend this campground and will try the lower sites next time.

We've been on the road for seven months, and have seen our fair share of RV resorts and campsites. Mama Gerties has been one of the very best we've stayed at. The staff is extremely friendly, the accommodations are immaculate, the sites are close but quiet and private. The cable works well, we have our own Wi-Fi, so we have no comment here. It's close to Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Highly recommend a stop here!

Great RV Park
Stayed here in August of 2016. We were in a 44 foot RV, and made it to the upper level drive through sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and guided us up to the site. A few hairpin turns, so the lead was very helpful. The views are incredible. Nice, quiet, clean park as compared to others we checked out in the area. Even has a security gate. The bath house is very nice! Looks pretty new. Would definitely return, and just may do so in the fall to enjoy the turning leaves of the beautiful views!

Excellent
Spent 3 days there on site 24, would love to stay longer. We went there so we could visit local RV dealers trying to trade RVs no luck there but we found an excellent RV Park instead. Definitely will stay there again

Best Campground Around!
Stopped here for an over night stay on our way to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and quickly regreted we were leaving so soon. Excellent views! Campground is very well kept and excellent sites! Steep grade getting to upper sites but we'll worth the climb. Staff was very friendly and helpful!
