Group Campsite #251

We were given inaccurate info when we called so wanted to write a review for anyone else. You cannot drive up to your tent site. There’s a big parking lot and you carry your gear in. There are 2 charcoal grills. There’s a water spigot. 3 picnic tables. Bathhouse was big and fairly clean. Daddy long legs EVERYWHERE. Fire pit is huge with benches all around. There’s fire wood at the gate til closing and it’s $7 a small bundle. The beach is nice and there are plenty of grills and picnic tables. There is a playground, bathrooms, and outside shower at the beach. Would def camp here again. We had a great time! Good recreational fishing too!

Spotty

Spaces are quite large and for the most part lots of room between them. Bathrooms at the 1st come 1st served areas- loops 3 and 4, aren't in the best shape. Lots of bugs in them, some good sized spiders, and others. These are older, with push buttons for flow control. $27/ night for 62+, includes water and electric, under that is $33. Bathrooms for the reservable sites, loops 1 and 2, were in much better shape. All the spaces nearest the lake didn't have any hook ups - just primitive sites. Sites were mostly very level, and most were very open and long. Gave it only 3 stars due to bathrooms, but in a very pretty setting and quiet, nonetheless. No one using pot or doing anything else around that was troublesome while we were there.

Unfortunately Sad

Well, apparently covid killed this campground. It use to be a descent campground until last year. Its dirty, grass uncut bathhouse are incredibly filthy. No toilet Paper. Every 30 yrds there is a sign posted alcohol is prohibited. Apparently smoking dope is ok. Went to bed smelling it ,woke up smelling it. Last trip to Parkers creek...

Simple Camping Done Right

This is a very simple state park campground. RV sites are water and electric, and tent sites have no utilities. However, the layout is very well done. Most of the sites are large with a decent amount of trees in between. I have camped here several times and never felt crowded. The bathrooms were recently renovated and look great.

Restrooms/showers Have Been Renovated

All restrooms and showers have just been renovated, March 2018. I believe Parkers Creek is completed but all campgrounds are getting renovated facilities and 50 amp service upgraded from 30 amp service.

Good Sites But Crappy Bathrooms

If you need to use the restroom while you are here bring your own. Restrooms were pretty sad shape. Dirty and soiled smelled of urine and poop. Went in to take a shower and did an immediate about face. No thanks. The shady sites and quiet nature of this part of the lake are the only reason I stayed.
