Peaceful mountain getaway.
Great place to go for a few days to escape city life. The park is small with some quaint nature trails. Like all New Mexico State Parks, it could really benefit from an update. The main loop has sites available with electricity, there’s a dump station and potable water to fill up your tank.

Pretty Nice
Pretty nice little state park. My only real complaint is that it's on a dirt road and it can get very dusty if there are vehicles driving around. I'm sure that it's a lot better after it rains, but it doesn't rain much here. The road to the park is paved except for the last bit which is quite a steep grade for the last few hundred feet. Probably about a 15% grade that could be an issue if it's muddy or icy. Good cell service and multiple OTA TV stations. A couple of nice hiking trails. About 9 campsites have electricity, but no water. Just a couple of water standpipes in the whole campground. Decent vault toilets and no showers. Pretty decent campsites. Many have shade and most are pretty level, but not all.

Great Getaway
My wife and I spent 3 days here. I paid for site 2 that said it would accommodate our 30 ft trailer. The evening we arrived there was no way I was going to get her shoehorned into that spot. Uneven, rocks, trees, and steep. I talked to the host and he took care of us. After that, no problems, loved the weekend!

Relaxing
Stayed 3 nights this time in site #15. Site #15 is in the west loop which was recently opened to all camping, not just group camping. No electric sites in the west loop only the main loop and in certain sites. No water at sites just at certain locations. No showers. Beautiful State Park though and so relaxing. Nice walking trails. Can’t wait to come back!!!
