I called to make a reservation. The lady that answered the phone, yelling "Are you talking to me". I said Yes ma'am, can I make a reservation. She said Call the State Park. I did and Tara at Caballo Lake State Park was amazing. Thank you grumpy lady for being so mean so I could find a Better RV park, just down the road.

The Best!

Great, friendly little campground. Sites are large, all pull-throughs. The owner, CJ, is one of the most memorable people you will ever meet. Happy hour (BYOB and snacks) every day ay 4:30. If you’re into wineries, a very good one (Shattuck’s) nearby. Oh, and did I mention the park is CHEAP? I regret our travels through NM recently have not coincided with a stop here.

This is a great park with a very friendly owner that has social hour from 4:30 to 6pm every day byob so you get to meet the other guests and chitchat. It’s a small place with a great personality and a lot of friendly people. Very inexpensive with large sites, water,50Amp service and sewer what more could you ask for.

Corrected Map Location

I moved the map marker to the correct location on highway 187. This is (was) a hidden gem. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. The park doesn't have laundry, showers, or propane. All major TV networks from Las Cruces are available OTA. Cell service has five bars for 2G EDGE but no LTE available. WiFi is marginal with only one access point and 512K internet link. Forget streaming.

We have stayed a few times and enjoyed it very much we will go back again nice quite and clean.
