After A Long Travel Day...
We were traveling from Michigan to Colorado and needed a safe, stop over night. This park is fantastic. Huge sites, beautiful views of the lake, green everywhere, quiet. We arrived after 4pm, so used the self check-in. Very easy. Shaded, flat, pull thru. Full hookups. Left early, but used the dump station, easy in and out. Historical buildinds. We would definitely stay again. Thanks.

3rd Stop In Two Years
We have stayed here 3 times in the past two years going cross country. First if you have not tried Rt 36 you must. Campground sits next to a sizable reservoir and has nice views. There are walking trails through the prairie landscapes.
Bath house is clean but state parks all buy their shower nozzles from the same company. The spray covers the whole room. Had to take a chair and place my towel and clothes outside the door The sites are mostly gravel and grass and pretty level. In June it was very buggy because of the excess rain the Midwest had this year.
We’ve stayed on weeknights and it was quiet. The reservoir is a popular fishing hole on the weekends for those in nearby towns

On our way to Denver we stop. Water, electric, dump station and quiet. Most sites gravel with large grass areas. Showers clean. If you are lucky ya might see the resident turkey flock stomping through the sites. This is our 6th stay.
Recommend.
