Very Nice Large Campground

There are actually a couple campgrounds at this lake. Some have electric and water at sites, some has just electric and some have no facilities at the sites. It's very large, but well maintained. Sites are paved and level. Side to side and front to back. Nice and quiet. You get 50 percent off with a senior pass. Nice place to bring children. One of the best dump stations I've seen. It allows 4 people to dump at once. That is if people are smart enough to pull up to the furthest station. Which by the picture you can tell some people aren't. Go figure.

Memorial Day weekend

Great place great beach area but holiday weekends they are booked and they know they have electric problems when they are booked but they do not tell you that. 7 sites two of which our party had reserved had 14 power outages and we had to call the rangers about before anything was done we kept being told by the host to turn stuff off like water heater and pump. For only having 30amp power on the site with no water those two items are very important. Will go back just not on a holiday weekend.

Nicest Campground I've Been To Yet

Stayed at Cedar Ridge, spot #3. This one spot is the most shaded in the campground and that was a big, big deal for us, but our overall impression of the area would have been equally glowing. We've seen no less than 20 deer, as many as 9 at a time, walking within feet of our site. A Raccoon visited us...squirrels, geese, ducks, and cranes everywhere... and a skunk was spotted a distance away but never bothered us. The highlight of the campground is access to a huge sand beach on Clinton Reservoir. No rocks, grass, weeds, etc in the sand! And the ENTIRE swimming area is sand... under the water and up to 75-100 yards inland. I've been on ocean beaches that were not as nice. 25 min to Lawrence, Topeka is close too, but we didn't go that way. Nice big shower/bath houses plus smaller bathroom buildings spread around the campgrounds that were cleaned daily it appeared. We never use the site showers but did here. Could not have been happier. Only wish we had more reasons to come this way.
