Nice Place!
Stopped for two nights to break up travel between Omaha and Denver. This is a really nice recreation area. Large campsites, beautiful surroundings. Was here in June and it was hot and very windy (I know, not the campground's fault). Campsites are pretty level. The only negative I could say is that they advertise free wifi and there was no wifi at the campsites. I would come back here again.

Apocalypse Loop
We're the only one in the Arapahoe loop with electric only. Sub freezing temperatures in a few days have the water and restrooms closed.
It's a fabulous clean park with 3 bars of Verizon.
There is 30 to 40 miles per hour wind, which, combined with water mean lots of fun - except that the entire shoreline is filled with skewers. See waterview pic.

Water Off For The Season But Year Round
We like the pull thru sites in the Arapaho loop #70 is a long one for a tow and close to the dump station electric only. BMX track for the kids and a great playground.

Nice Quiet State Park
Stopped for one night. Large lots with paved level back-in drive. We used the full hook up site. Picnic table under a small shade tree, fire pit nearby. Recommend.

Level And Sparkling Clean
We have stayed here before. Pull thru site in the Arapaho loop. Fire rings. 5 dollar fee for the extra vehicle. Map it yourself, the GPS tries to take you down a dirt road.

Excellent State Park Camping
Our first time to camp here and we were so impressed. One of the nicest state parks in Kansas. Sites are very large and well spaced. Plenty of parking at each campsite for vehicles, camper and boat. View of lake from sites. Lots of trees in most camping loops. Nice new playground equipment. Picnic tables are new and made with composite material. Fire rings at sites. Plenty of green area and paved roads for bicycles and walking. The entire shoreline looks to be naturally sandy and the lake water seems clear. This part of Kansas is amazingly lovely with the limestone bluffs and green hills. If you stay here, take a drive on the scenic byway. Castle Rock is not far either. We will stay again. We stayed in Overland loop. All loops in north shore look great.

Well maintained
We tent camped here, the shower houses were clean and all primitive sites we looked at were well maintained. I can second the bad directions for after hours guests, I finally found a small carry along park map to guide me to a site to set up in a small shelter by the office.

Warning - the maps and directions to campsites are horrible! Stop and ask. There are campsites in both sides of the lake. If you don't know that, you can't figure it out from the cheesy map. Once we arrived the site was awesome. Clean, level, and full hook ups. Awesome place to see stars. It is very windy, but typical for Kansas. They want to charge a $15 vehicle fee for parking. We couldn't determine whether it was required or not. Again, bad directions for after hours guests.
