Great Place!
Beautiful setting and very close to bicycle trails, restaurants, coffee shop. We were in a spacious full hookup in new part. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They even delivered firewood. Clean, quiet! We will be back!

Unreasonable Owner Don’t Stay Here!
We originally reserved this site for a visit with my Mom. They charged us for the whole stay of $178.00 at the time of our reservation. I asked why and was given some song and dance it’s easier that way, Instead of a deposit of one night as their website says and other campgrounds do. They were unable to provide us with a site that had sewer so we decided to cancel and book at the KOA that was further down the road. When I called 24 hours before we were to arrive the staff said the owner would handle the cancellation. I never received a call back about our cancellation so I called several days later. The Owner was always
Busy and would call be back. Well she finally did and was very rude. She said I had agreed to their terms. Cancellation fee of $20.00 and one night. She is greedy and kept our whole fee of $178.00.
We will never stay at a place that does business in this manner. And rude! I am filing a complaint with the BBB. And my credit card.

Huge Boulders = Insurance claim
Stayed six nights. Staff was nice and helpful park was shady and comfortable, pool was nice. My biggest complaint is that the owners had placed these huge boulders at the entrance to the laundry facilities I assume to keep people from driving in the grass. My wife drove our small car to do softball uniforms for our granddaughter at night and scraped our new car on one of the big rocks. I noticed the rocks were tightly placed and it was difficult to navigate in the daytime. The area was very dark at night and she hit one of them :(

8/10
They must have added to their property because the sights in the back are really roomy. We stayed in #128 and had lots of room to pull through our 35ft motorhome towing a Jeep. Grass picnic table and fire ring on one side and grass on the other. Really quiet. Also, the family running this outfit is delightful. I’d go out of our way to stay again. It is pretty pricey though ($25 extra) if you want to reserve a spot.

Beautiful!
We only spent one night in mid-October, but it was beautiful - a resort type of place. They have a lot of sights, with more on the way. We were fully self contained, so didn’t need any services other than water & electric. We would return here if in the area again! (I think they are open through the end of October- call ahead just in case).

Okay
Kids loved the inflatable jumping thing and the pool was nice. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. Like everyone else said you are packed in like sardines. The dump station is also on a fairly steep hill so your tanks don't get all the way empty when you leave.

Nice But Pricey
We stopped because we wanted to see the beautiful Iowa state capitol. As with other comments most of the sites are extremely tight. With our slides out there wasnt even room to walk between our camper and the one behind us. The site was so unlevel that our rear wheels were off the ground when we leveled the rig, and our front steps did not open all the way because they hit the hill on the other side. There were a lot of families there for the holiday weekend and that was so nice to see. The young people working at the park were all friendly and very nice, but the old lady could practice her customer service skills. We only had water and sewer and the price was higher than I was quoted on the phone. There are enough other camp grounds in the area, that next time we will probably stay somewhere else.

Lovely Stay.
We stayed over labor day weekend. It was wonderful. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Pool was a nice addon. We had plenty of room at our site. Many local Iowan families were out enjoying their extended weekend. We are traveling on. Would definitely stay again.
We are back. Only one night this time. Same friendly owner. Will come back.

Agree that full hookup sites are tight, but a very pleasant campground. Staff is exceptional and the grounds are well maintained. Easy access to interstates 80 and 35. Very quiet except for occasional shots from gun club located to the north of the grounds. Deer and wild turkey mosey through to provide a real country feel. Priced at the higher end, but discounts cash payments. I’ve stayed here twice and will stay again next time through Des Moines!

Nice Place
Such friendly staff. The accommodated was last minute. Kids enjoyed the outside pool. Our site wasn’t ideal but for being the last spot it was nice.

Overpriced and Tight
We needed a one night stop on our return trip home. Paid $41.50 for electric and water. Was escorted to our extremely small site. We have never stayed at a campground with such small sites. When you step out of you entrance you are arms lenght to your neighbor. Picnic tables are even in the rear because there is no room on the sides! We left before connecting up.
Stay at Walmart, there is more room.

Pricey And Tight
We were on the road trying to find something near Des Moines that was Open. Called and spoke with a very friendly woman who assured us they were open. We arrived and was told that the water would not be turned in because they felt it might freeze. OK, I get that, but was charged for full hookup anyway. Our space was very tight with 2 huge trees on our entrance side. Managed to maneuver so that we could avoid the trees with our slide. Said they had WiFi and at first it worked but it continually went on and off. For $41.25 it was too pricey for what we got. Probably would not stay here again.

Nice Staff But Pricey And Tight
Bathroom's could use some work. Staff are really pleasant. Lead you to your site. But really tight...glad I was in town visiting friends cuz really could not have spent time outside at my site. I thought it should have been a little cheaper.

New Owners...Super Friendly and Helpful
Marta and Matt have owned this place since May 2017. The campground is clean with shady pull through spots. Matt helped me repair my fifth wheel hitch so we could get back on the road, while Marta offered food and drink. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem. You should try it, too!

Nice Place
As others have mentioned, absolutely beautiful campground with nice clean pool and well maintained dog run but cramped camp sites. Just a stones throw from Des Moines and some it's greatest restaurants.
I recommend some of the state parks in the area if your looking for a little more elbow room but you will have less amenities.

Beautifully Disappointed
Let me start with: this is a gorgeous campground tucked back in the woods, friendly staff (even when I called at midnight because late arrival info was no where to be found), every amenity you could need, and even a pool.
Now the unfortunate: tight roads (not for inexperienced drivers), uneven sites, dump station is on a hill(they do have full hook ups, couldn't get one due to last minute reservation ), and the best for last....there is a shooting range right next door (8am wake up call).

Very Unfriendly
Very Unfriendly on the phone when making a reservation. Why do the have to put the most rudest person on the phone. Unfortunately had to cancel our reservation and got the same rude lady again when I called. Probably for the good anyway, if they're not friendly on the phone, then they won't be getting MY business.

Crazy tight spots. Do not choose this park if you have a big rig!
