Great Tent Camping Choice!!!

Drove into Des Moine area Aug 2019 looking for a place to tent camp overnight....so many campgrounds were full. Talked to a Ranger who at one said boaters/recreationers/RVers tend to fill up sites all summer....but instantly suggested Acorn Valley should be open for tent camping. Sure enough, the entire tent area of some 50 sites had maybe 4 sites occupied! Clean, well-kept, free showers, playground, only $11! Best campground for price anywhere! Sites are open lawn as well, so pitch where you wish.

Very nice campground and the price is right. The campsite terrain is a bit uneven by the chocks and blocks are effectively correcting same.
