Beautiful State Park
I highly recommend this park. There are many great semi secluded sites with 30/50 amp service. This 2800 acre park has the Vermilion River running through it and offers small craft boating, fishing and hiking. The fire pits are way too high on the sides and restrict air flow, but would not keep me from coming back.

Beautiful And peaceful
Beautiful grounds with 5 campgrounds - 3 canal grounds have 30 and some 50 AMP and 2 non elec campgrounds. We loved the flowering trees along the river bank and the songbirds. Friendly and accommodating staff. Well groomed, yet natural, wooded area. Two shower houses which were sparkling clean. If highway noise bothers you, stay up by the playground and amphitheater. The staff mentioned that they take a lot of reservations for weekends. We were there in the middle of the week and it was very quiet and not at all crowded. Great value for $20 per night with electric.

Nice Campground
The campgrounds are well kept, the staff polite, and the price decent. The map/sign system is a bit confussing. The different types of trees are awesome if you like to ID diffetent trees. The backwoods trails are fun but need a little help. The trails in the fields are well maintained. No swimming is allowed and the only reason given is the the area used to be a coal mine. Not sure about why that is a reason. The boat ramps are well maintained and the canoe trips are nice. Overall a good park.

Nice staff. Decent location and sites Weak WiFi.
Spent one night in a 34-ft class A with toad.
Not too crowded in late April.
