This Place Is Not Worth The Trouble
We have stayed here for the past 5 years. It is a neat place and a great location, next to Snook Haven (which is going away unfortunately). The facilities have gone downhill each year. They have not made any attempts to improve anything and management ignores issues, especially electrical and flooding (non-river) just from a gentle rain. They don’t have any qualified maintenance employees to correct any of these issues. But the real issue is a manager (Ann) that doesn’t care about anything. She doesn’t provide any customer service, if you question anything that she does, then you are alienated. She removed all of the pool chairs and tables from the pool area just because one customer disagreed with her. She denied a reservation to a customer because they questioned electrical status on a specific site and she didn’t understand that it was not causing an issue. It was just an excuse to deny access to a customer that questioned a non-issue. We suggest you look elsewhere.

$102
Very nice campground. I only wish that they had advised me of the 1/2 mile long approach road. It was very rough and narrow and many low hanging trees and limbs. I clipped one of the low hung branches and it totally took off my awning and all connecting arms an brackets. I was told there were 12 such accidents last year and I was the 2nd one in just a week. Several campers assisted me in getting the awning cut off my rig as it was dragging on the ground. Also the camping price was very high. Not a good choice. I would look for another campground.

Camp Venice Retreat
Nice campground, kind of old school Florida. Grass sites, gravel entry road, a lot of friendly seasonal campers. WiFi terrible except in rec hall. Guy and girl at front desk not very personable but campground changing ownership on 4/1/2020 and future operations seem to be unknown at this time. I would stay here again. Location is close to I-75 and area attractions

Camper
What a great place! Clean and well maintained throughout the facility. Quiet and respectful campers. Road is a little rough from main hwy to campground (1/4mi) but has plenty of overhead clearance. Less than a mile frm I-75 but never heard traffic. Will definitely return to this campground in the future!
