OH MY
We've stayed here many times as we make our way either south to Palm Springs, or back home at the end of the Snow bird season. Looks like this place has gone way down hill. Too bad...

Only To Stay Overnight
The rates need updating and the parking spots are overgrown. The Wi-Fi worked great and there are a couple restaurants within walking distance.

Better Than I Expected
Clean gravel sites, streets are paved, utility hookups very nice. They now have WiFi (no cable). Irene in the office spoke highly of the new owner and the improvements. They have a new store/office and resolved the bad smell issue at the park. City of Coalinga is surrounded by one or more smelly ranches but this place is 10 miles south and wife and I did not smell anything outside. Our RV had to be aired out from driving thru Coalinga. I would stay here again but I did not like driving on Interstate 5 from Sacramento. 99 is a better road.
Saviors !!
We had a breakdown and were fortunate enough to have it right at this location. The staff was absolutely fantastic and totally understood our situation. Although not a destination location, this is a great place to stop and take a break.

No Cable And No WiFi
Office run down but guy was nice enough. Park is neat enough but nothing fancy. Site level with worn out picnic table. There are east and west bathroom facilities. The men’s west bathroom was closed for repairs. The east was quite a hike so my husband didn’t use it. I did look in the west women’s restroom. Although clean, the 2 shower stalls were pretty shabby so I didn’t use them. The two pools had green nasty looking water in them. Even though it’s winter, don’t understand why they don’t keep up the pool. My biggest gripe - at the “discounted” $40.50 rate, they should have cable TV and/or WiFi. Having neither was a real drag and I will not stay here again unless I’m desperate.

Fine For One Nite
Just a parking lot, but clean and quiet

Shocked
We were shocked to see all of the junk and filth laying around. Couldn't find a garbage receptacle. Not maintained. The sites are narrow. The saving grace was the quiet and friendliness of the staff. Won't stay again.

Good for overnight for us. Easy access off I-5. Fuel facilities next to park.

Super Spot
We called ahead for 2 nights, and the staff is organized, efficient, accommodating and efficient. Our pull through was level, roads wide enough, bathrooms clean and nice, and laundry room clean and neat. They have 2 pools and 2 laundry rooms. Beautiful Oleanders were blooming outside our site, and one can walk out the back of the campground into 2 service/travel centers including a Mexican grill and a Subway. Safe, easy places to walk and permanent parties friendly.

A really easy spot to get to. Nice owners and 50 amps. I would highly recommend it for a night.

Nice Overnight Stop
This is a good place to stop for the night. Very close to I-5 and quiet, well kept and clean. Gravel sites are well maintained. There is a gas station adjacent with a Subway shop. The park is 10 miles from the town of Coalinga. There are a few permanent residents, but a lot of one-nighters.
Reply from owner/manager: Thank you for your review, it shows we have made improvements and are still making improvements. All overnight sites now have pea gravel where the dirt once was, as time and funds allow we will continue this throughout the park with a couple of handicap sites being completely paved though not sure how soon this will take place. Thanks once again and hope you have safe travels.

Good For a Night
No grass, which doesn't bother me because I would rather have food production. Hot showers, I'd stay again when traveling through. Office manager helpful in route assistance. Stayed in February 2018, $40
Reply from owner/manager: Thank you for your review, while the problem with no grass may not bother some others it doe's and we have been trying to address this issue the question i have is what were you reffering to when you stated you would rather have food production are you reffering to an onsite restaurant or just being able to hook up and do your own cooking? If you have any suggestions please let us know.

Good one night stand! Price is right, spots are level and people are pleasant.

A decent place for a one night stop. Reasonable rate. Sites are all pull throughs and level. Easy on easy off freeway but far enough that road noise is not bad.

It's A Good Option If You Need A Place
We lost our generator in 100 degree plus heat. We were hot and decided to stop early and get up early in the am so we could get north to lower temps. The people are nice and we had 50 amps. My husband walked to the Baja Fresh and got some food. We got up early in the am and left. It was quiet, we got some sleep and got cool. The people are very nice and helpful. They should just pave the place as most people are just passing through and don't need grass etc.
Reply from owner/manager: Thank you for your review as of the date of your post our park was under new management for 4 days a lot has happened since then improvements have been made including a new dog park we are aware of the problem with no grass paving was one option that has been discussed but put aside because of cost our intent is to replace the dirt in the patio area left over from the drought with a material such as bark or gravel.

Just To Clarify
I'm writing a review just to help clarify what is here. There are not many RV park at this location along I5. If you are looking for a spot to pull over for the night this place will work. You could substitute the word "could work" for "Will Work". This place is definitely NOT an Oasis and the dead grass with gopher holes noted in the other review is absolutely correct. It's pretty rough and worn out but the folks in the other RVs were friendly. The wifi name for the password given did not appear on my screen. Our sign in sheet gave us a password for a wifi name we could not locate.
Reply from owner/manager: You are accurate in your assessment of our park the drought was not kind to us and the gophers we are working on getting rid of. As of July 1st our park is under new management and we are working to improve this park where ever we can and we do appreciate the reviews to show us where to improve. Thank you for your review

Nice Clean Place
We kept hoping you couldn't smell the feedlot as we drove down 5 into the campground. Nice guy confirmed I could take Highway 58 to Barstow and boy was I glad I did as the traffic on Thanksgiving weekend was just insane! Nice pull throughs!

We stay at the Sommerville RV park each time we travel from AZ to N CA. It has very convenient access from the I5 with a gas and diesel station right next to the campground. The people managing the facility have always been very pleasant and helpful. Access to the camping spots is easy even with a longer Motorhome pulling a car. Pull throughs make parking and leaving very easy. I would recommend this campground to anyone traveling on I5 in CA that is looking for a nice place to stay.
