Good Park, But...
Pretty decent campground. Our site (D77) was pretty nice with a fairly level but narrow pad. some sites have full hookups, but ours was water/electric only. Several other sites looked like they could use some TLC. There were lots of well marked and mapped hiking/biking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and a swim beach. Our biggest complaint was the price. In an effort to capitalize on their proximity to the University of Alabama, they jack the prices through the roof on GameDay weekends. After taxes and fees, our spot was nearly $90/night on Friday and Saturday. Our fault for not checking first, but it seems like the locals know. The park was empty except for the campers that have seasonal GameDay passes, and the weather was perfect for camping. We will make sure to check the football calendar before we plan another trip here.

Great but has Potential to be best
Best sites B33,B34,B35 ,B37,B38,B39,B40 All these have full hookups. If you had a larger group of campers this is the whole section B less B36 it has water, sewer only. Between Beach and playground, fishing pier. Beautiful Lake, talked with a few campers and Mt. Bikers. Lots of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Bath houses just ok. Like Oak Mountain it really needs a face lift but still seem like a great park. Lots of full timers in first section.

Nice Park Very Close To Tuscaloosa
Very nice park. We had a pull through spot cause we didn’t want to unhook our Toad. Park closes at dark. So make sure you are there in time. Our “pull through site wasn’t exactly a pull through, and it wasn’t exactly level, but it worked out fine. Stayed one night, but would have liked to stay longer. Looked like a great place to relax. If you are going on a Bama game day, it’s going to be expensive. A little out of the way, but we’ll worth it. We didn’t get to use the bathhouse and the nature center was closed. But nice place to stay for sure.

First Time Campers
Lake Lurleen has great people, great views, and great time. The sites are immaculately kept. Many sites have full hook ups. This was our first time ever pulling a trailer and the lady’s that worked there were so helpful. Many places to hike and walk. Bathhouses were very clean. This is our new go too:)

Great Park With Plenty To Do
Lake Lurleen is a great little park with plenty to do for the entire family. My wife kayaks the lake, my kids swim in the lake and play on the well maintained sandy beaches, and I can mountain bike ob their rugged trails until my legs cramp! The spots are spacious, shaded, and have water access at many of the sites. Offering both full hookups, and partial (with only water and electric), the sites have access to decks, picnic tables, and there are on site pavilions with permanent grilling stations. The lake is great for fishing, and the park offers paddle boat and canoe rentals. Only small outboard motors are allowed on the lake (see the parks website for specifics). There are also several playgrounds with fun fir the whole family. The bathhouses are well kept, and were clean. We found no issues using the bathhouse, but, note, they are older so don't expect anything too fancy. Hey, after all, we're camping. Our family highly recommends this camp ground. It's a hidden little gem.
