Great Park

We've been to this park a few times with our RV. Always loved going here. They have a shallow beach for the very young kids and the other beach for larger crowds and much deeper water. The park has three trails, one is more extensive, more wilderness. You do have to plan ahead to book your site. The online booking gives complete information about the site and with pictures. You really should not be surprised upon arrival. The family enjoys coming to this provincial park on the Ottawa River.

No Rules

Very busy provincial family campground, and it shows. We booked ahead to ensure availability and only 2 sites were available for our 28 ft trailer, one of which had water access to Carp River (more like an agricultural runoff not deep enough to run a kayak let alone swim). Great location though only 1 hour from Ottawa. Our "premium" site turned out to an overused clay mud pit with a stately 300 year old oak in the center. It would have been quite pleasant had it not been for the multiple party families surrounding us who couldn't care less about nature and simply wanted to listen to the same 6 songs every night and drink margaritas. Sleep was at a premium. No noise enforcement. Half the facilities were closed due to recent flooding yet same full service price of $50/night when reservation fee and taxes are thrown in. Way overpriced!
